New Distribution Center in Forest Park, GA

One of the world’s largest grocery retailers investing more than $175 million over the next five years; Governor Nathan Deal announced The Kroger Co. will locate to a new distribution center in Forest Park, GA. Niagara Battling Opening in Newnan

Niagara Bottling, LLC will open a $52 million facility in Newnan in late 2014 creating 40 new jobs. The 450,000 square foot facility will package and distribute private label water for Niagara customers. Niagara Bottling has 18 locations across the US and is the second largest bottled water maker in the country.

1888 Mills Expands to Griffin

1888 Mills announced today that is has purchased the 500,000 square foot former NACOM facility on Airport Road in Griffin, Georgia. This is part of an expansion that will produce a sizeable investment in land, buildings and equipment and also create approximately 100 new jobs. Douglas R. Tingle, Board of Managers for 1888 Mills, stated, “This is part of an expansion and modernization initiative we have for our USA platform. We continue to believe that USA manufacturing is important in supporting our local community. Each manufacturing job we create has a trickledown effect to the local economy. Commerce Welcomes Ollie’s Bargain Outlet Distribution Center

Gov. Deal announced today that Ollie’s will locate their new Southeast Distribution Center in Commerce, which will create approximately 175 new jobs and invest $14.56 million into the project over the next five years.

The Ollie’s facility in Commerce will support the company’s plans to expand its footprint in the Southeast. As part of this growth plan, the company anticipates adding 30-40 stores in Georgia over a four-year period beginning in 2014. The first Ollie’s store was founded in Mechanicsburg, Pa., in 1982 and has grown to become one of America’s largest retailers of closeouts, excess inventory, and salvage merchandise, with 154 stores in 14 states. West Point Welcomes Hyundai Dymos America

Governor Nathan Deal announced this week that Hyundai Dymos is opening a manufacturing plant in West Point to supply Kia Motors Manufacturing. The facility will manufacture seats for the new Kia Sorento. Hyundai Dymos will bring a $35,000,000 investment and 350 jobs to the community. This West Point facility will allow them to take the next step in their expansion strategy in the United States. Production is slated to begin in November 2014. (more…)
