This year’s ED Summit provided many opportunities for our attendees to hear from leading experts, meet colleagues and build lasting relationships. This was our 15th Economic Development Summit and one of the best. We appreciate our sponsors, our attendees and our staff working together each year to continue to bring valuable information to our membership. Facebook to invest $750 million in Stanton Springs data center
Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Facebook will create at least 100 full-time jobs and invest $750 million in a new data center in Stanton Springs over the next five years. New jobs will include positions in engineering and management, as well as opportunities for data center technicians.

Golden Star Inc. chooses Thomaston, Georgia it newest manufacturing facility
The Thomaston-Upson Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is pleased to announce the sale of the speculative building located in the Central Georgia Business and Technology Park. Golden Star, Inc. plans to invest $5 million and create 30 jobs in 2018. The company manufactures industrial cleaning supplies such as wet mops, dust mops and textile cleaning systems. The 109 year old company has a corporate headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas and manufacturing facilities in Kansas and Nevada, as well as two dedicated supply chain partners in China and a manufacturing facility in Vietnam.
