Mohawk Industries Expanding in Dalton-Whitfield County
Governor Nathan Deal today announced that Mohawk Industries, the world’s largest flooring manufacturer, will expand its existing vinyl flooring operations in Dalton-Whitfield County. The $100 million capital investment in infrastructure and equipment will generate approximately 200 jobs for the region. (more…)

2016 ECG Economic Development Summit
We just wrapped up our 13th ECG Economic Development Summit with great success. Previously known as the ED Forum, we have had numerous requests to bring it back. We decided to re-brand as the Economic Development Summit and provide a destination location. The Summit was held April 13-15, 2016 at The Westin Jekyll Island and the Jekyll Island Convention Center.

Great things happening in Albany, Georgia
Working together, the City of Albany and Dougherty County in southwest Georgia are bringing new life and opportunities to their downtown. Thanks to a private-public partnership dedicated to redeveloping downtown by playing up the area’s premier natural resource-the Flint River, the Albany Downtown Riverfront Master Plan was designed to pack the center of the community with diverse activities and destinations that benefit residents and visitors alike.

In this issue, Chris Carr, Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner delves into his personal commitment of creating jobs, “We’ve built this pro-business environment, low tax rates, low regulatory burden, great logistics and higher education. Our tax reform to remove the sales tax from energy use in the manufacturing arena, for example, was a huge boost to our manufacturing sector.”

Jindal Films Americas relocates to LaGrange, GA
Governor Nathan Deal announced today that Jindal Films Americas LLC (JFA), a global leader in the manufacturing of specialty films for packaging and labels, will relocate its U.S. Research and Development Center and national headquarters to Troup County. JFA will expand an existing manufacturing facility in LaGrange, creating 240 jobs and investing $180 million in the community. (more…)
