Grants & Funding Opportunities | October 2026
To help support our Georgia Energy Cities and their economic development efforts, ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development has compiled this month’s list of available grants and funding opportunities.
These resources can help advance community and economic development goals, support existing industries, improve infrastructure, and create opportunities for growth.
This month, we are pleased to feature funding from the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA), now accepting applications for the Utility Support for Grid Resiliency Program, a funding opportunity designed to strengthen local electric systems and improve long-term resilience.

This program supports utilities in enhancing grid reliability, advancing modernization efforts, and reducing risks from extreme weather and other disruptive events through outage tracking methodology, restoration planning, and staff training. Importantly, these funds can support the planning and training needed to position future projects to be shovel-ready for the Grid Resilience Infrastructure (GRIP) grant program.
All utilities play a critical role in keeping Georgia’s communities safe, connected, and economically strong, and we want to ensure you have access to the resources and benefits of the program, which include:
- Support for planning, infrastructure upgrades, and critical community-serving facilities
- Outage tracking methods and best practices
- Restoration and tabletop exercises for outage events
- Preparation for future federal funding
- Planning and training to help develop future projects for GRIP funding opportunities
We strongly encourage your utility to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to advance grid resiliency efforts in your service area.
Program details, eligibility requirements, and application materials can be found here: Utility Support for Grid Resiliency Program.
