Community Development
Jon serves as the Community Development Project Manager on the Economic and Community Development Team. He provides expert counsel and solution-based options to ECG community leadership and stakeholders regarding best practices and growth strategies in the areas of community preparation, urban planning, and product development; all to create a local environment that fosters business recruitment, business expansion and retention strategies, quality residential development, and overall enhanced quality of life
Prior to joining ECG, Jon served as a GIS Manager and GIS Planner for the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission where he worked directly with local government staff, elected officials, and members of the public on a variety of projects. As a GIS Manager, he oversaw the day-to-day GIS operations of the organization, assisted numerous communities with GIS services, and supported internal staff members with innovative GIS solutions. As a GIS Planner, he managed and led Comprehensive Plans, Complete Streets and Trails Plans, and Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plans for member local governments. In addition, Jon served on the Georgia Association of Regional Commissions (GARC) Technology Committee and GARC GIS Committee where he worked on statewide projects and solutions. Prior to working at the Regional Commission, he interned at the City of Porterdale.
Jon is a graduate from Georgia College and State University where he earned a master’s degree in Public Administration, a bachelor’s degree in Geography, and a certificate in GIS. He currently resides in Marietta, Georgia with his fiancé, Kristina. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golfing, playing guitar, and watching UGA win national championships. He is also a proud supporter of the Detroit Lions and the Atlanta Braves.
