Acworth Breaks Ground on Downtown Hotel – SpringHill Suites by Marriott
ECG joined City of Acworth leaders, city staff, development partners, and the community for the groundbreaking of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, a milestone for one of metro Atlanta’s most actively growing areas. The project is expected to deliver a $5 million economic boost to downtown businesses, restaurants, and retailers.
Yesterday, Downtown Acworth marked a significant milestone as city leaders, Acworth DDA, development partners, business owners, and community members gathered for the official groundbreaking of the SpringHill Suites by Marriott.

City of Douglas Receives National Excellence Award at ICSC Las Vegas Conference
- The City of Douglas, Georgia, received the ICSC Excellence in Community Advancement Award at ICSC Las Vegas, recognizing its Douglas Square/T.A.D. redevelopment initiative on the national stage.
- The project transformed a vacant former high school site into a thriving 360,000 sq. ft. retail destination, generating over $40 million in private investment and up to 275 permanent jobs.
