While Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is drawn to the American economy for its open markets and investment friendly climates, Georgia communities who want to attract those investors must reduce the risks for prospects and offer an alternative to some of their “at-home” issues of rising energy costs and wage rates, speed-to-market issues, and stiff regulatory environments.

BMW to Build Technical Training Facility in College Park, Georgia
The City of College Park, Georgia announced today the sale of 4.1 acres of land to BMW of North America on the campus of the Georgia International Convention Center in College Park. The land will be used to construct a new BMW Technical Training Facility.
“We’re excited to have BMW join the corporate landscape here in College Park,” said Mayor Jack P. Longino. “The brand is well suited for success in the region, and we’re poised to support them to the attainment of that goal.”

Lidl to create 250 jobs in Bartow County
Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Lidl, one of the world’s largest retailers, will create 250 jobs and invest $100 million over the next five years in a new regional headquarters and distribution center in Cartersville.

Elixir Extrusions expanding in Douglas, GA
May 5, 2017 – Elixir Extrusions LLC is expanding its operations in Douglas-Coffee County, GA. The expansion brings 100 new jobs and $8 million in investment to the area. The manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions and fabricated parts will build a new 70,000 square-foot facility to accommodate the integration of automated anodizing equipment. The new production line will create one of the largest of its kind in the U.S.
