Aviagen to Invest $18 million in Brooks County, Georgia

March 9, 2017 – ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development is proud to announce Aviagen Broiler Breeders’ location in Quitman-Brooks County creating 100 jobs and investing $18 million. Aviagen supplies day-old grandparent and parent stock chicks to customers in 130 countries worldwide under the Arbor Acres®, Indian River®, and Ross® brand names. These brands are among the most recognized and respected names in the poultry industry and each has a proven record of success in addition to a large and loyal global customer base.

Governor Nathan Deal said, “The poultry industry has been one of Georgia’s top economic drivers for decades and Aviagen’s decision to expand here is a testament to our competitive economic environment today. ELK Group International to create more than 100 jobs in Sylvania, Georgia

February 13, 2017 – The Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) today announced that ELK Group International (ELK), a premier designer and importer of indoor and outdoor, residential and commercial lighting fixtures and home decor, will create more than 100 jobs and invest $2 million in a distribution center in Screven County.

“Georgia is a hub for thriving companies such as ELK Group International, and their decision to open a new facility in Sylvania is a great win for the region,” said GDEcD Commissioner Pat Wilson. “With access to a skilled workforce and an efficient transportation infrastructure, ELK will find it easy to meet the growing demands of their customers, and expand their business in Sylvania.”

The Linde Group coming to Adel, Georgia

January 3, 2017 – ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development is proud to announce The Linde Group’s second manufacturing facility in an ECG Community.  Gov. Nathan Deal announced the Linde Group, a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial gases, will create 35 jobs and invest $40 million in a custom-engineered air separation plant in Cook County. “Georgia’s continued economic development, both on the state and local level, will continue to provide The Linde Group with the necessary resources to expand operations and undergo immense growth,” said Deal.

Thomaston Welcomes New Distribution Facility

December 16, 2016 – Solutions Pest & Lawn today announced that it purchased the 300,000 square foot Apollo Industries manufacturing facility located in Thomaston, Georgia. This will be the 12th facility in the retailer’s growing network of stores and warehouses and will be critical to supporting the rapid growth of Solutions’ direct to consumer pest control businesses.
