Enjoying the 2018 ECG Economic Development Summit
This year’s ED Summit provided many opportunities for our attendees to hear from leading experts, meet colleagues and build lasting relationships. This was our 15th Economic Development Summit and one of the best. We appreciate our sponsors, our attendees and our staff working together each year to continue to bring valuable information to our membership. Taurus USA to create 300 jobs in Bainbridge, GA
From the Office of the Governor of Georgia – Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Taurus USA, a leading firearms manufacturer, will create 300 jobs and invest more than $22.5 million in infrastructure and operations to establish a firearms manufacturing plant in Bainbridge.
‘Georgia’s strong manufacturing sector and business-friendly climate continue to attract industry-leading manufacturers like Taurus USA to our state,’ said Deal. ‘With this investment, Taurus USA is highlighting some of the economic development assets available in the Bainbridge area, while also creating meaningful employment opportunities for the community. We welcome Taurus USA to Georgia, and we look forward to seeing how our highly skilled workforce will help the company grow and maintain its competitive edge.’

Facebook to invest $750 million in Stanton Springs data center
Gov. Nathan Deal today announced that Facebook will create at least 100 full-time jobs and invest $750 million in a new data center in Stanton Springs over the next five years. New jobs will include positions in engineering and management, as well as opportunities for data center technicians.
