FAA Aircraft Pilots Workforce Development Grant

Through the award of these grants, the USDOT and the FAA will assist in providing meaningful educational experiences designed to prepare high school students throughout the Nation to become aircraft pilots, aerospace engineers, or unmanned aircraft systems operators, and support the related professional development of teachers. Consistent with Federal policy, by advancing equity across the Federal Government, we can create opportunities for the improvement of communities that have been historically underserved.
The Program is to provide grants to support the education of future aircraft pilots and the development of the aircraft pilot workforce by preparing high school students to fill the United States aviation industry’s anticipated demand for aircraft pilots, aerospace engineers, or unmanned aircraft systems operators, and support the related professional development of teachers.
Only projects that fall into one or more of the below categories will be eligible for award:
- Projects that create and deliver curriculum  designed to provide high school students with meaningful aviation education that is designed to prepare the students to become aircraft pilots, aerospace engineers, or unmanned aircraft systems operators; or
- Projects that support the professional development of teachers using the curriculum described in subparagraph (a.)  The proposed project may utilize an applicant’s existing training curriculum as well, provided that such curriculum is consistent with the eligibility requirements set forth herein.
