January 3, 2017 – ECG’s Office of Economic & Community Development is proud to announce The Linde Group’s second manufacturing facility in an ECG Community.  Gov. Nathan Deal announced the Linde Group, a leading manufacturer and supplier of industrial gases, will create 35 jobs and invest $40 million in a custom-engineered air separation plant in Cook County. “Georgia’s continued economic development, both on the state and local level, will continue to provide The Linde Group with the necessary resources to expand operations and undergo immense growth,” said Deal.

Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) Project Manager David Dunagan assisted the company on behalf of Georgia in partnership with Lonnie Smallwood, Senior Business Development Associate for Electric Cities of Georgia, and the Cook County Economic Development Commission.

Emphasizing the importance of local commitment to successful economic development, Lonnie Smallwood said,  “The Linde Group didn’t choose Adel by accident.  This location is the result of a business-first community with a strategic vision for growth, executing a plan to maximize their workforce and logistics advantages to bring industrial jobs to Cook County.”

Mayor Buddy Duke commented, “The City of Adel is excited to join ECG in announcing the location of Linde to our South Georgia community.  The expertise of ECG’s staff allowed a consistent and detailed proposal that was instrumental to the successful location of this company.   The City of Adel’s elected officials are involved with economic development on a personal level; therefore, it is our commitment to offer competitive power rates and personal service to our customers, whom we like to call partners.  Customer choice provides us with that opportunity.  It also allows us to showcase our city, our community, and most of all, our dedicated employees.  We are grateful to Linde for choosing Adel as the next site to call home!”

“Working with Linde’s Energy and Engineering teams was a real pleasure,” says Walter West, ECG’s Senior Vice President of Analytical Services. “By choosing Adel as their electric service provider, Linde will benefit from the advantages of local service, an efficient energy portfolio, and will directly contribute to the growth of their home community.”
