Solar Comes to Mitchell County

Sunny skies mean so much more in Mitchell County these days. Their recent location of the second largest solar farm in Georgia (with 66,000 panels on over 150 acres, with the generated energy reaching 6,000 homes) has local leaders very interested in the weather.

Check out this video made by the Mitchell County Development Authority and the Georgia Solar Energy Association about this solar farm, the largest south of Atlanta. The Georgia Solar Energy Association’s main goal is to educate people about solar energy, and this project shows how a small rural community came together to make it happen.
